Our Boat Away from Bettie

Vlad's brother has been nice enough to let us stay at his house while we are in the U.S. You all remember Todd don't you?

We are staying in the adorable casita behind the main house, and I mention this because as soon as I entered this incredibly cute space I was having boat flashbacks. It's small - about 300 square feet - has all built-in shelving, and incorporates some of those neat elements of design that I love about boats: quirky cabinetry, a sleeping loft and functionality combined with aesthetics.

Plus, in true boat fashion, you still hit your head on the ceiling when you sit up in bed.

We have been loving living here and have even been talking about building something like it when we get back to land. Something small, that doesn't eat up one million dollars in energy costs, where there's plenty of storage to help keep the clutter at bay and a well thought out design.

And now Todd is selling the house and the casita. If you're interested in a fab house in Santa Fe, check it out here.

  1. Just checking in with your blog to see what you are up to. I love that little space. Very cute, and definitely boat like in its tiny-ness. glad you found a great place to land that made you feel at home. Hope the pregnancy is going well.
