Sayulita Surfin'

Go, Dustin, go!

Our friend Dustin had only a couple of requests for his visit to Mexico, one of which was to go surfing, and seeing that we are located next to one of Mexico's best beginner surf spots - incidentally the town we got married in last month - we were happy to oblige along with our long-time boat friends, Jess and James. Of course, the day we picked to head to Sayulita also happened to be the day some 9-foot swell rolled in, but, hey, everyone needs the occasional slap down by the ocean, right? Especially us sailors.

Despite the raucous surf, the gentlemen - Vlad, Dustin and James - came stumbling out of the sea two hours later looking bruised and battered and extremely happy. Literally, there were dazed and exhausted smiles all the way around. Vlad and James got some good rides in, and Dustin got up to his knees on the board. Not bad for a group of novices. And no one had to go to the hospital!

Meanwhile, since Jess and I are both pregnant, we decided to hang out chitchatting in a cafe. And we didn't have to go to the hospital either! Needless to say, we are all ready to go back.
