Photos of Isla Roatan

Here are some pictures we've taken of Roatan. This place is so relaxing and so chill and so filled with friendly people we can see how people stay for years. Too bad we can't!

And what the heck are these things?

Our friends the misplaced sea lions.

  1. Those are Noni fruit. You can read more about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morinda_citrifolia

  2. You should take some pictures of interesting bugs you see. The tropics are filled with amazing insects.

    1. I wil do my best. Unfortunately, I mainly see mosquitos and no-see-ums, which aren't particularly photogenic!

    1. It was this Australian woman who took care of the sea lions. She wouldn't let us wander around the island, but Vlad persuaded her to let us hang with the noisy sea lions for a bit.

  5. Is that the fruit, that when you watch The Rundown, causes them to hallucinate and pass out?

  6. Nice! Wonder where the sea lions came from. If you do post photos of big bugs, put a warning at the top of the post. Some bugs I just cannot look at. At least not directly.

    1. They were definitely part of the animal rehabilitation center, and the marine mammal trainer that we spoke with said they were the only non-native species on the island.

I will, for sure, let you know if there are ever any bug photos!
